Origins of This Trip

Lynda dreamed of circumnavigating Lake Tahoe on a kayak three years ago upon reading Deep Water Passage: A Spiritual Journey at Midlife, a book about a woman who kayaked Lake Superior. Lynda decided to do a mini-version of this journey as a personal challenge at age 50. She wanted this effort to symbolize a head-on embracing of midlife and a turning point toward her lifelong desire to do animal welfare work. For a traveling companion, Lynda called on long-time friend Mo McDonald, who she knew would be up to the challenge and share her passion for adventure and helping animals.
